OUR MISSION

The Foundation

The late Hisham Hijjawi, left Palestine in the 1950’s and established himself in Kuwait like many other Palestinians at that time. He never believed in violence or armed struggle and was a strong believer in the power of education and economic prosperity. His vision was to promote vocational education and decided to support Vocational education in Palestine and Jordan. Vocational skills are essential for any economy to retain and develop technology and know-how.
In 1981 Hisham Hijjawi established the Scientific Foundation of Hisham Adeeb Hijjawi (SFOHAH) in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. SFOHAH is an independent, nonprofit, NGO whose objective is supporting technical and applied sciences education to enhance technology transfer and absorption, in order to develop a suitable industrial base for better human welfare and dialogue.

The Foundation provides grants for educational support and training. The sources of funds of the Hijjawi Foundation are strictly from the Hijjawi family members. Institutional projects established by the foundation can source non-political third-party funding. In executing institutional projects (Colleges and Universities) the Hijjawi Foundation adopts World Bank tendering standards.
The Foundation operates through its Amman office to follow up on projects and programs in Jordan and Palestine. A board of directors set the policy for the foundation’s grant making and operations. An advisory board selected from public figures advises on SFOHAH’s general strategies.

The Hijjawi College of Engineering (Jordan)

In 1984 the Foundation established The Hijjawi College of Engineering https://hijjawi.yu.edu.jo/ under the umbrella of Yarmouk University of Jordan. Today Hijjawi College for Engineering Technology is a home for a community of 5,400 young men and women aspiring to become leaders and members of the new disruptive world. Today, the Alumni of the Hijjawi College are well over 23,000 among them is the current Minister of Telecommunication in Jordan. In addition to the academic program, The Hijjawi College and the Hijjawi Foundation collaborated to introduce the following programs:

- The Exponential Theory and the Exponential Concepts.
- Communication and Speech Making programs by the world Toast Masters Champions
- A series of “How to make money online and become more productive as a student”
- How to get jobs online
- Program to meet a variety of successful entrepreneurs who share their inspiring stories.

The Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology (Palestine, West Bank)

The Foundation established The Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology (https://hijjawi.najah.edu/en/ in Palestine, within An-Najah National University. The Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology stared in 2001, providing technical and vocational training to about 1,500 students. The college also offers rehabilitation programs for the Prisoners of War who need skills to survive in the society after they are released from Israeli prisons.

The Hijjawi Foundation “On the Job” Training Grant

The Hijjawi Foundation offers grants to assist students who seek training opportunities in the real-life world. The Foundation covers all travel, room and board expenses, as well as pocket money for up to six months for students who succeed to find a unique training opportunity anywhere in the world. Over 2,000 students have enjoyed the benefit of this program. The countries in which training took place USA, Germany, Malaysia, Egypt, Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, England, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan. 100% of the graduates of this program are leaders in their field.

The Hijjawi Tech Incubator

The HijjawiTech incubator https://hijjawitech.com/ is a very productive training and development center for students interested in the field of Coding, Programming, Web and App development. organization that is located at the Incubation Center of Yarmouk University. The center is rapidly growing and aspiring to become a very productive unit that will support the various training programs of the Hijjawi Foundation. The main services provided by HijjawiTech is Web Development, Mobile Application, Website Management, Support, Consulting, and Quality Assurance.
